There is no better time to be tobacco-free. Four out of five teens don’t smoke. If you want to get involved to make your community a healthier place to live, if you want to learn more about smoking and tobacco, or if you want help to quit, check out these tobacco reduction programs:

Smokers' Help Line (Alberta only)

You want to quit. We want to help.

The AADAC Smokers' Help Line is a free, confidential telephone service for smokers. Calls are answered by a trained counsellor who can help you develop an individual quit plan, offer information, or refer you to services available in your community.

Telephone counsellors can offer information about

  • how to quit
  • benefits of quitting
  • withdrawal symptoms
  • managing stress
  • dealing with relapses
  • working through cravings
  • seeking support

Whether you are ready to quit now, or just want some information, Smokers' Help Line counsellors offer non-judgmental information and support. Call if you

  • want to quit
  • are thinking about quitting
  • have already quit and need support
  • have tried to quit, but have started smoking again
  • don't want to quit
  • know you should quit, but aren't ready
  • want to support someone else to quit

Help Line hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days per week
