The Alberta Youth Experience Survey (TAYES) measures alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drug use and gambling activity among Alberta students in grades 7 through 12. The survey also examines student attitudes, perceptions and social networks in relation to substance use and gambling activity.
In 2002, AADAC initiated The Alberta Youth Experience Survey (TAYES) to measure youth substance use and gambling behaviour and associated risk and protective factors.
AADAC commenced the second cycle of TAYES in 2005, working in partnership with the University of Alberta’s Addiction and Mental Health Research Laboratory, and surveyed 3,915 Alberta students in grades 7 through 12.
