Department Description
- facilitates staff recruitment, selection and placement
- develops, implements and maintains classification systems for various positions
- makes recommendations to executive in order to maintain AADAC’s competitiveness in compensation and retention of qualified employees
- provides consultation regarding employee performance and attendance issues, grievances, effective application of discipline, and interpretation and application of the AADAC Collective Agreement
- represents AADAC at the bargaining table, negotiating collective agreements with the Union
- administers AADAC's pay and benefits systems and co-ordinates all aspects of employee benefits, including negotiation and payment of benefit premiumsprovides consultation regarding pay, benefit and pension matters
- administers AADAC’s Employee Assistance Program
- provides training in recruitment and selection practices, classification, employee relations, performance management, pay and benefits
- manages relevant records, including all official employee files, position files and competition files
- develops and maintains human resource guidelines and regulations
- conducts ongoing research and environmental scanning to make AADAC a leader in progressive human resource practices
- leads the development and implementation of corporate initiatives and guidelines that support the wellness and safety of employees
